My Journey
How I got into web development
- Laid off in 2007 as a Forecast and Inventory Analyst.
- Built my first site in 2009 using Dreamweaver.
- 2018 I build my first WordPress site.
- 2019 I built my second WordPress site
- 2020 built a custom WordPress theme for my third WordPress site.
- Since then I have taken various courses:
- On Udemy
- Certification courses by freeCodeCamp
- Various courses by Kevin Powell, Brad Traversy, Gary Simon, and Colt Steele.
My Approach
I prefer websites that have room to breath. I like using lots of padding and margin. I like clear and clear designs. I also like to make the sites user-friendly and with greeat metrics (speed, accessibility, etc.)
I love JavaScript and I prefer working with it than I do do designing a site layout with CSS.

What I'm Currently Focused On
I've retaken 2 courses by Colt Steel on Git and Javascript. I am presently recreating my Guitar Chord app to include more instruments and better functionality.
I bought 2 Python courses by Colt Steele which I will be starting soon!
I would love to build a GIS app for my Capstone project but it may be difficult getting the data I need to pull off what I want to do.

Outdoor Photography
I enjoy doing multiple exposures and shooting in low light conditions. I also like to explore altering the exposure settings to get a better shot.

Music
I got a minor in Music and knowing music theory has helped me in my music playing and is at the heart of my new project What Chord is This? That project will allow guitar, mandoling, banjo, and ukulele players to enter notes for a chord they do not know, and it will return the chord name with additional information.

Bushcraft & Orienteering
The outdoors is how I relax and enjoy myself, I love learning the technical aspects of buscraft/wilderness survival such as botany for wild medical plants, and orienteering for navigation.
